Reviving the Love for Movie Watching in Theaters – Showplace ICON Theatres

It’s been awhile since we’ve gone to the movies.  When my husband and I were boyfriend and girlfriend, our favorite pastime was going to the movies.  Since getting married, we hardly ever go and when we do, it’s usually for blockbuster movies like Avengers, Thor, or even Star Wars.  I think in general, movie-going has waned because prices have gone through the roof despite the same movie-going experience. That is until the reclining seats came into the mix.  I’m lucky to live by 2 movie theaters offering these lovely seats, and it seems reclining seats are becoming a standard movie-going experience, at least here in the Bay.  But now the new theater in town, called Showplace ICON, boasts of reclining seats with a heat warming option.  Yes folks, heat warming!  I just love the innovation happening right now.  I mean thank you to whoever allowed such a neat feature to be put in place, because usually I’m freaking cold in the theaters.  But it gets better.  The Showplace ICON in Mountain View offers food service that is much more than your standard hot dog, nachos, or popcorn fare.  They offer real meals with the option of eating at a table or while watching your movie.  It does get pricey though, and you can easily spend an arm and leg for this experience.  But don’t fret because they also offer Tuesday night specials where all movies are priced for $6 each ticket.  And it’s such a steal because normal ticket prices are $18 a pop.  So for those interested, check out an Icon theater and enjoy a movie in comfort!

We recently watched the movie Alita.  Please feel free to share the latest movie you saw in theaters and comment about your experience below.  Thanks for stopping by!
