Our Short Vancouver Trip

It probably wasn’t the wisest choice to go to Vancouver in November since it’s kind of their rainy season.  Despite some rain on our trip, we still managed to have a few sunny days.  We stayed in the downtown area, about a 30 minute walk from Stanley park and we pretty much walked when we could even though we had a car.

Vancouver is an absolutely gorgeous city, friendly to tourists, and exceptionally diverse.  We didn’t fly directly there but instead landed in Seattle and booked a rental car for a road trip up.  Our trip was only 4 nights and 5 days, which we spent a good portion with family.  When it was just us, we got to visit Stanley park to walk along the sea wall, see the totem poles, and best of all, see the view of the city skyline.  It was amazing.  We also got a chance to visit Lyn Canyon Park to snap a photo on their suspension bridge.  I’d have to say I’ve never smelled pine trees that strongly the way I did at Lyn Canyon Park.  It smelled so fresh and amazing.

For those wanting to visit Vancouver, I would recommend going either in the warmer months or at least around September/October when it’s not raining.  I think there’s just so much to do here, especially for nature enthusiasts.  If we ever take a second trip back, I’d like to visit Buschart Gardens on Victoria Island or see Whistler and take the gondola ride up the mountain.
